Equestrian or popularly known as horseback riding refers to the skills of riding, driving, steeplechasing or vaulting with horses. In the early times Equestrian includes the use of horses for practical working purposes, transportation, recreational activities, artistic or cultural exercises, but now it is already became a competitive sport. This sport has a dual stage of training and also needs coordination for both the rider and the horse. Horse racing becomes a sport especially in the upper class and these includes Polo and Equestrian. Horses are trained to used in competitive sports along with the rider. Equestrian events were first included in the modern Olympic Games in 1900. By 1912, all three Olympic disciplines still seen today were part of the games. The following forms of competition are recognized worldwide and are a part of the equestrian events at the Olympics.
